CleanTech Hackathon 2026
DEWA’s Sustainability & Innovation Centre is excited to announce the launch of its fourth CleanTech Hackathon. This competition brings together innovators from diverse fields to develop effective solutions for a sustainable future, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to advancing clean and renewable energy technologies.
The CleanTech Hackathon plays a vital role in addressing climate change, water scarcity and global environmental challenges. It invites local and international companies, as well as mature senior student projects, to innovate across three key tracks that shape the future of clean energy and sustainability:
Hackathon Tracks
- Decarbonisation & Sustainability
This track focuses on reducing greenhouse gas emissions across industries and communities. Participants can explore innovations in clean energy production, carbon capture, sustainable manufacturing, green transport and climate-smart policies. The aim is to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy and support global net-zero targets.
- Clean Energy Integration & Storage
This track emphasises accelerating the adoption of renewable energy through advanced integration and storage technologies. Participants can work on solutions involving solar, wind, batteries, hydrogen and smart grid systems to enhance reliability, scalability and efficiency. The goal is to address challenges such as intermittency and cost, enabling a cleaner, more resilient and carbon-free energy future.
- AI & Digitalisation
Artificial intelligence and digital technologies are transforming how energy is produced, managed and consumed. This track encourages teams to use AI, data analytics, IoT and digital platforms to optimise energy systems, predict demand, improve efficiency and support sustainability-driven decision-making. It’s about leveraging digital innovation to power a smarter, greener world.
The Hackathon empowers innovative companies and senior student teams to develop high-impact solutions that push the boundaries of clean energy and sustainability. Participants gain recognition, visibility and the opportunity to contribute to a global movement striving for a cleaner, more energy-efficient future.
